FIONA HIGGINS BATIK ARTIST

Fiona Higgins is a batik Artist working in her studio in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. Her work is inspired by the beautiful scenery of Donegal. In landscapes, seascapes and trees, she captures the ever-changing light and colour of the shifting seasons and unpredictable weather. Fiona works on the medium of silk, using the process of batik where hot wax is applied and acts as a resist to the dye, creating the image.

Fiona studied Fine Art Painting at the Dublin Institute of Technology and qualified with a teachers diploma in the College of Marketing and Design.
